Hello  - What's new? I just clicked on Post and found the brand new format so here goes.  I wonder how this process has changed?  We're waiting for Spring to arrive here on the farm...boring I know - you've heard me drone on before but last weekend I did have a mini break in the big city which included a lovely bridal shower.  It was a traditional English tea party with many of the guests wearing lovely fascinators, gloves and pearls or estate jewellery.  The next day involved a trip to Ikea, more shopping and a wonderful pub supper on the nicest night of the year.  It was just so great to see happy people wandering along in the warm almost summery air.  The next day was spent shopping - (why? because there are no stores in our little town unless you count drug stores and hardware stores...) and eating at a traditional Italian pizza restaurant.  My daughter is involved in a production so my niece was happy to accompany me to the opera instead.  All in all it was a wonderful three day break.  I didn't take any pictures so decided to show you a favourite collage today.   We are in the midst of changing monitors and installing new hard drives and doing all sorts of related computer work so if I don't post for awhile I will see you sometime in May.  Have a wonderful week wherever you are!

An April Sunset

This month has been one of melting and snowing -with warm weather through the week and then a snowstorm just as the weekend starts.  The days have been warmer and longer.
These pictures of sunset were simply enhanced and cropped in I Photo but they were unique in that the fog had rolled in just as the sun was setting.  The fields are bare once again and hopefully with the warmer weather that's predicted we won't see snow for another 5 or 6 months.  But that being said, the prediction is for overnight flurries...I'm crossing my fingers that the forecast is wrong and that we will catch up with the rest of Canada.  We're ready for Spring to arrive in all it's glory!
What's it like in your corner of the world?

The early morning sunrises seen from our east window often put a smile on my face.
I hadn't realized it was time for Vee's Notecard Party but I'm glad I discovered it tonight.
Take a peek at all the lovely sets of note cards at A Haven For Vee.
Think I'll call my note cards "Sunrise-Sunsets"

Easter Greetings

Best wishes for a lovely Easter!  I hope you are with family, enjoying the special traditions that make Easter a very special time of the year.  I have used this picture before - it's a closeup of a decorative china plate but reminds me of my sisters.  This week we had two blizzards - last Sunday and again on Thursday. A lot of the snow has melted again so things are looking up.  On Tuesday morning we had a power outage and I discovered my MAC wouldn't turn on.  It turns out my hard drive could be toast so I will have to wait and see what my son can do to get my computer working again.  Thankfully he's an expert so with his help  I should be back blogging before too long.  Until then I hope that you are enjoying lovely spring days wherever you are!  Happy Easter!

How to Draw...

Did you ever own one of the "How to Draw" or "How to Paint" books way back when?
I remember I had a couple of books and now I own one again. One of the nicest things about having a daughter is  that she will remember your stories. Mine spotted "How to Draw and Paint Fashions" in a second hand store, bought and thought it would make a perfect birthday gift for her mom. She remembered that when I was in grade ten I was determined to get a summer job and after seeing a Hudson Bay help wanted ad for an artist to draw fashion sketches for their newspaper advertisements, I applied.  Amazingly I was given my first job interview.  I was asked to bring a portfolio so spent the next couple of days and nights drawing fashion sketches.  I'm sure they must have been copied from current newspaper and magazine ads but in any case the personal manager interviewed me with respect and took a look at my sketches with interest.  A couple of days later I got a call informing me that the position had gone to someone else as it was a permanent one but I did get a summer job as receptionist at The Bay Beauty Salon and enjoyed the experience....nothing ventured nothing gained and it was fun to act as a hair model for one of the stylists!

What a difference a day makes -

yesterday
today - it's been snowing all day and there's no sign of it stopping...

Tomorrow's another day and the forecast is for 8'C - we'll have to wait and see it to believe it!
